Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types of portrait sessions do you offer?
I photograph babies, children, families, milestone birthdays, actor headshots, graduation portraits, and individual portraits. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply want beautiful photographs of your family, sessions can be tailored to suit you.
2. What age is best for a portrait session?
There isn't a perfect age. Every stage brings something unique, from a baby's first smiles to confident school-age children and family portraits with multiple generations. The best time is whenever you want to capture memories as they are now.
3. How long does a portrait session last?
Most portrait sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the type of session and the number of people being photographed.
4. What should we wear for a portrait session?
I recommend choosing outfits that complement each other rather than matching exactly. Neutral tones, soft colours, and simple patterns tend to photograph beautifully and create timeless images.
5. My child is shy or doesn't like having their photograph taken. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many children take a little time to warm up. Sessions are relaxed and pressure-free, allowing children to play, explore, and show their personalities naturally. Some of the best photographs happen when children forget the camera is there.
6. Can grandparents or extended family join the session?
Absolutely. Extended family portraits can be arranged and are a wonderful way to create photographs that will be treasured for generations.
7. Do you provide headshots for actors and professionals?
Yes. I offer professional headshots for actors, performers, business owners, and professionals who need high-quality images for casting profiles, websites, LinkedIn, or marketing materials.
8. Can we bring special items or props?
Of course. Favourite toys, blankets, musical instruments, sports equipment, graduation gowns, or anything meaningful to you can help make your session more personal.
9. Where do portrait sessions take place?
Sessions can take place in the studio or, for some portrait sessions, at an agreed location. If you're unsure which would work best, I'm happy to advise.
